Monte Gordo, International Tourist Centre In Algarve
Monte Gordo is about three kilometres from the council to which belongs, Vila Real de Santo Antonio. Because of its potentialities, today, Monte Gordo is an international tourist centre. The place was an old town of fishermen and with the presence of the sea, Monte Gordo was pioneering in the tourist exploration in Algarve, with the construction of one of the first hotels of the area in the sixties. With a beach of great dimensions and an inviting sand dune, besides its soft climate and of several walking areas, in Portuguese sidewalk style, Monte Gordo is one of the main tourist destinies of Algarve.
