This is a very exclusive book which is also interesting and it explains the African society very well with respect to the religions and the foreign. This book contains a lot of short stories which are the experiences of the east African people with the Christian missionaries of the west. Each story is unique and reveals a lot about the African people. Some of them are their response to death, missionary works in the African schools, how they perceived Christianity and behavior and so on. In one of the stories, a Moran thinks how great and inevitable lord Jesus was. But as per the meaning of Masaai manhood, he also questions that have Jesus killed a lion before and also asks how many wives Jesus had. In another story, a nun wonders why all the school girls are running together over the cross line in a running competition. She later comes to know from them that they want to be together all time and they do not want anyone of them behind. From these stories, we can understand that the Africans were very much cooperative and they want to be together all the time. The Africans also believe in re-incarnation as per which the spirit of a good person returns to the earth through a newborn and they also consider that the ancestors who die become their guardian angels. This book surely explains a lot about the African society and the author has done definitely a good job.
